This 12-inch resin and applewood clock blends the rustic charm of local wood with a clean, modern design. The design started when I branched out and made a clock for my Mom’s mother’s day gift. From there, i’ve perfected the design and production process. Scroll down in the description to see the process via video of me making the first design for my mom.

I gathered the applewood for these clocks from a decades old apple tree from my front yard. It’s a functional slice of local heritage built to last for generations.

The Story Behind the Applewood

Applewood is famous among woodworkers for its dense, durable nature and incredibly rich, warm coloring. On top of that, every clock features its own distinct live edges and intricate ring patterns. It’s more than just a way to check the time—it’s a genuine conversation starter.

Note: Because this is made from real, natural wood, your clock will have its own unique grain patterns and shape variations from the one pictured.

How It’s Made

I cut and mill the wood in my wood shop, and then put it into a circular mold into which I pour the colored epoxy resin. Then, when the epoxy resin cures, I take it out, cut it to size, and cut out each hour marker on the clock to inlay a different color resin. After that I sand the the clock faces and edge to a matte polish. From there, I drill a hole to install the clock movement, and ship it off to you.
