Cherry Charcuterie Board With Dark Blue Resin 10″ x 3/4″

This handcrafted 10-inch wide cherry charcuterie board is a perfect fusion of modern craftsmanship and natural imperfection. Made from degrading cherry wood, this piece features the warm, rich tones and natural grain of the wood. In turn, it’s brought to life with deep blue resin that fills voids and imperfections. With the resin turning what was once unusable material into a functional work of art.

At 3/4″ thick, this board is sturdy yet elegant, perfect for serving cheeses, charcuterie, or small bites. Furthermore, the dark blue resin adds a bold contrast to the golden-red hues of cherry. This creates a unique visual texture that’s both eye-catching and refined.

Making the Charcuterie Board

The crafting of this board involved a time intensive process and serious attention to detail. First, I flattened the piece and put it in a mold with resin, which takes several days to dry. Then, I planed down this charcuterie board to the right thickness. Consequently revealing many imperfections and voids in the wood due to the wood’s decayed nature. These voids and imperfections took a long time to fix, and most of the process consisted of fixing imperfections, sanding or scraping down material, and fixing more imperfections in the wood. The Food Safe Finish

First, I start with saturating the charcuterie board with several coats of food safe mineral oil. Hence, helping keep water out of the board, and the keeping the moisture content even. Afterwards, I buffed the board with a mixture of carnauba and beeswax in order to help seal the board from moisture even more. As a result, the finish is food safe and durable.

Taking Care of Your Charcuterie Board

*This charcuterie board is completely food safe, however it’s not recommended for rigorous cutting or chopping. Deep scratches in resin may harbor bacteria if not washed properly.

*Wash with warm soapy water, do not use abrasive material to clean, and dry off immediately afterwards.
